Best way to go to Goa from Mumbai in August?
October 8th, 2009 | by admin |We are Malaysian, intend to go to Goa in August. What is the best way to get there? Is Mumbai the closest international airport? We have one week to spare. any good tips to there?
Yup, Mumbai is the closet international airport. Though the fastest way is the air route and next fastest is the roadway, both suggested by Tina, the best way - from a tourist’s point of view - would be the Konkan railway. You will need prior reservation from the Indian railways though, but August being an off season it wont be a prob. The bbeauty is simply breath taking and you will miss half the fun of Goa if you do not take the rail way. It takes you about an entire day to reach Goa - the train starts at around 6am in Mumbai VT and reaches Goa at 8pm. Any taxi would take you to Victoria Terminus or V.T. or as it is officially known as CST. I would suggest that you reach there by flight since most international flights wont reach in time for you to catch the train and come back on the Konkan railways to enjoy the real grandeur of our country.

Yes Mumbai is the closest international airport. I think the airport is called Sahar airport.
The best way to go to Goa would be by air if you can afford it. Will save time.
But if you’re an admirer of nature and would like to see the beauty then I would say go by road.
You can always rent cars. Also it takes like 13 hours to reach Goa including the traffic. And like 1-2 hours to go by air.
Have a happy and safe trip

Goa is great all year round… August is great coz it rains and Goa becomes green like never before…
Bombay is not the closest but the best Airport you can land at to reach Goa.
The closest International airport from Goa is Bangalore but it does not have good connectivity to Goa.
The best option to go to Goa from Bombay is by Air. However, Bombay is connected by good bus coaches to Goa. A few trains to connect Bombay and Goa…
The best way to travel from Bombay to Goa is by Sea. Unfortunately the ferry service is no longer operational…
