Why did the Golden State Warriors dismantle that 2006-07 team?
November 11th, 2009 | by admin |..They pulled of one of, if not the greatest playoff upset over the Dallas Mavericks in the 1st round. Last year, they missed the playoffs in a very, extremely tough West Conference on the last day of the season. My question is, Why would they do that? 2nd part question, and who should be held accountable for their horrid start to this season?
Correction, they pulled *off
No one, well maybe the moped. The West is just too tough for a young team w/o their best player so far, and Stephen Jackson has been out for a while as well.

Well, they were just as good if not better later they dumped J-Rich. But no one could’ve forseen B-Diddy jumping ship and Monta getting hurt at the beginning of the season. It’s just been a lot of bad luck for the Warriors. Al Harrington didn’t really wanna be part of the team anymore because he felt he was a superstar and should be getting superstar minutes, and that just wasn’t the case, at least in Coach Nelson’s eyes. So, the trade for Crawford was pretty sensible. Really, it’s all just been because of a string of bad luck occurrences. Nothing they could’ve done about it.

Baron didn’t want to stay. If he did, they’d be good. Then when Monta Ellis pulled a Jeff Kent, they went in the tank.

1. The only player they really lost was JRich who they traded for financial reasons, to clear cap space when they were after Garnett and to resign monta ellis and andris biedrens in the future.
2. You could blame plenty of people. Baron Davis for leaving the team, Cohan for refusing to allow Mullin to give Baron a contract, Monta Ellis for falling off his moped, the guards for leaving biedrens out to dry so often and not stopping penetration, and overall their lack of defense

The players and their Company.Agents want too much money. Every player should be paid a commission on their performance. No performance, no money. Sports players are a dime a dozen and do nothing for society. Raise the salaries of ther hard working people who give their souls to a Company., A hot dog vendor does more for a sports company than a player because hot dog vendors are loyal and hard working.

The main weakness of the 06-07 team was their lack of size to defend and that their offensive relied mainly on scoring and shooting. When their shooting is cold, they’re screwed. With Baron’s departure, they decided to get more offensive scorers to fill Baron’s void. However, they made their lack of size and defensive ability even worse than before doing so. And hence the 08-09 season. Add to the fact that their crucial players always happen to get injured.
