How do you start interfaith conference between muslims and jews?
December 28th, 2009 | by admin |Besides the middle east conflicts that always starts never ending argument. I am university student but this idea is always in my mind if it succeeds in our school. What do you think? Bad idea or neutral start for diverse conference.
@Chuck formerly known as Bob: I don’t believe I said I will solve the problem. But it’s more about the university activity between students.

You might want to ask this on the Religion and Spirituality board. Good luck. I think ANY idea that has a chance of bringing people together in the pursuit of friendship, understanding and peace is a good idea.

Here’s what happens…
They both sit down at the table…
The Jew asks… "What can we do to resolve the problem?"
The Muslim replies…. "Die you infidel."
What is hilarious to me about the whole situation is the Muslims will go and throw rocks and home made bombs at Israeli’s… and then cry to the international media when Israel retaliates with laser guided rockets…
It’s being 5′ tall and weighing 120 pounds and going to the club to pick a fight with the bouncer…. lol

the people that come to these conferences as speakers are usually the ones who are already convinced that there should be some rapprochement between the two groups… like your liberal reform rabbi and some sufi teacher.
if you want to get jews and muslims to talk. make it a social thing… peers of both religions meet and talk, and hang out and do social things to see that "the other side" doesn’t have horns and doesn’t bite.
EDIT
another great way is to enlarge the gay pride in jerusalem… when we were going to have "world pride" here it got the leaders of judaism, islam and christianity talking… nothing to unite enemies like hatred towards another group of people.
