How to cover a press conference for a newspaper and radio?

October 21st, 2009 | by admin |

We have an upcoming press conference about this band that’s about to have a concert. I’ve been asked to attend the conference and get some sound clips. My first time at a press conference.

I also want to mention this in our uni newspaper…

How should I go about this? How should I behave at the conference and collect info?

Get there early so you can set up your microphone or recorder on the band’s table or podium. That way you get the clearest sound. Other than that, be ready to ask a well-reasoned question or two. Take notes on everything. Not much to it really. When you’re done, take your recording and notes and search the tape (or what have you) for the best sound bites.
