    Actually under our …
Actually under our Labour government we don’t have to wait months to see any doctor. If it is an emergency it will be days to a matter of two weeks depending on what is wrong. We are not dying waiting for any treatment. It is a LIE that we are dying waitng for healthcare. Just another falsehood designed to scare people. I have used the health service in England and we are fine. Why are you people paying hundreds and month and getting turned down when you really need it? MADNESS.

    Pres O is either …
Pres O is either ignorant of the bill or just plain lying when he says you can keep your insurance if you are satisfied with it. For those people who think the public option is good for competion, take a business class. For those who think this plan can be paid for by simply taxing the rich, take a math class. And for those who think the govt can run a multi-trillion dollar program really well, .

    Hey Cutchs, …
Hey Cutchs, healthcare in Eng and Canada only works if you dont need it. People have to wait for months to see a doctor they need. It is a documented fact that people have died waiting for this ‘free’ healthcare. Even Daniel Hannan of your parliment tells America not to go the govt healthcare way. Remember it was Mr. Hannan who told the PM of England that ‘you have run out of our money’. England and Canada have a rations program and that is why many, who can, come here for help.

It’s usually a good idea to have thoughts based on evidence though, don’t have to be a scientist for that. Look into the issue some more champ, then come back and say what you would do instead of raising taxes on the rich - who are the only people whose taxes will go up. Kudos for not comming back at me with a bucket- full of swearing despite my first post though. That was just to get a reaction. Stay healthy dude!

    Look, I see that …
Look, I see that you’re a young fella so I’ll talk to you a little nicer than I do many people who say things that don’t make sense. If your Dad’d going to lose his job I feel sorry for you mate, and him, just like I feel sorry for all those who can’t find work. But what you’re saying sounds like it’s comming from your Dad - am I right? The simple fact is that the unemployment problems the US now has come directly from an under-regulated financial system and a health system that is sick. Your go

Goverment run healthcare works in England, Canada and many other countries. Americans can learn from us. Stop paying through your noses to healthcare companies who rip you off every month and get with the times man

He is raising the taxes so now the unenployment is raising and people are starting to lose jobs. My dad might lose his job. Now you see his approval rating is now 48%! Say what you want about me, i’ll never change my mind.

    Hey, Joke-for - …
Hey, Joke-for -Mom’s back! I see you’re still talking crap. Was it Obamas’ job to stop GM and Crysler failing? No. It was his job to oversee a transition that would hurt the wider American community as little as possible considering it wasn’t the workers who ran those companys into the ground by building rubbish. What ever happened to survival of the fittest anyway? I thought you Republicans considered that mercy was only for the weak (but that’s just unless ‘you’ need mercy, isn’t it).

    Govt run healthcare …
Govt run healthcare. Why would anyone think govt can run anything this massive properly? This administration is a failure. Everything major that Pres O has tried has failed. GM and Chrysler still went bankrupt, the stimulus has failed to stop the rising unemployment. He made a speech to the Caterpillar company and told them he would save their jobs with the stim bill and that did not happen. Pres Ofailure.

mayday mayday, S.O.S. S.O.S., some lunatic politicians outside the U.S. who themselves retire after 4 lazy years want me to work until i’m 65. Thus acting as though they are the owners of my life. I refuse to do that and they’ll repent it when they don’t give me my monthly pension right now !

Way to go Barack Obama. And thank you for explaining in this video, the objectives and progress of the Health care reform initiatives. It is important for normal folks like us to know how our future can be improved. Thank you for taking the time to regularly keep us up to date.

    The problem is that …
The problem is that neither program is designed as all purpose safety nets. Medicaid specifically targets low income families while Medicare is aimed at people over the age of 65 or those on Social Security Disability Insurance. While these programs do work, there is a lot of wasteful spending in both. If they could be streamlined to deliver proper care and people trying to manipulate the system for their own benefit were removed, that money would go a lot further than it does.

    A widespread and …
A widespread and urgent upgrade of ICT’s (information and communication technologies) would require a hefty initial outlay but would make it back in savings and improved patient outcomes quickly. They’ve also been talking about being more discriminating with the proceedures they allow. There’s huge room for improvement here, but if you were to properly fund these two programmes with the goal of them being a genuine saftey net for all Americans - you’d basically be spending the same as this plan.

    Both Medicare and …
Both Medicare and Medicaid are programs designed to help the “underprivileged” and other individuals with certain circumstances. However, both are underfunded in my opinion. With reductions in medical costs, even small ones, the money distributed to these two programs could be stretched further to help more people.
To be honest, I have no ideas on how to go about cutting costs but not quality. But I am pretty sure that doctors, nurses, and members on the board of directors at a few hospitals do.

    Thanks for …
Thanks for insulting every physician in the United States by saying “doctor’s make decisions based on fee schedule” and not what’s best for the patient. If he thinks this is the problem with health care we are all in trouble. What reality is he talking about? where his discussion on real health care problems such as tourt reform &reducing medical paperwork and increasing reimbursements for Medicare which has not been done in 10 years. This indicates he is clueless on medical reform. yikes!
