Anyone know of any free conferences in California?

Does anyone know of any trips, conferences, tours, missions, retreats, etc, that are happening in California? For example, some friends of mine just signed up for a trip to go and see/stay at Stanford, and a while back I had friends who signed up for some sort of politics conference in California, and it was free when you signed up. I want just want to go to California!

Those "free" trips aren’t for the general public. They are all specific to a certain group of people. And my guess is those trips aren’t "free". You have to pay to get here, etc.

If those Stanford friends have a freee trip, why can’t you sign up for that one? Without knowing the facts, it sounds like they signed up for a recruitment trip, and have the grades to justify it. And the "politics" conference was probably some sort of student government, mock UN, or political party-based junket, where you already had to be involved in that organization.

We here in this forum probably aren’t going to know of any freebies that you can hook up with to get a free trip out to CA. Ever heard of the phrase, "There’s no such thing as a free lunch"?

Good luck! I’ll see you in Fantasyland!
