I agree, that hat …
I agree, that hat was stupid. But he was trying to get at something important. Dylan crashed his Triumph motorcycle right before the writing of “Highway 61 Revisited” where he emerged with a completely different sound. Dylan is messing with the cat-headed journalist and playing down his genius. He never did anything “off-hand” or “just-because.” His albums and especially album covers were meticulously crafted. His reluctance to explain himself and surly elitism are why we love him.

Dylan was cynical …
Dylan was cynical for the right reason–as a kid in the 60’s, I KNOW this…a poser? ..hardly..there was a war going on and the civil rights movement was in it’s heyday and had many opposers–Bob’s “cynicism” was right on and appropriate for the time.
Long Live Dylan

Agreed. Dylan was a …
Agreed. Dylan was a cynical poser politically except when he was truly naive and young before 65. He was a poser even then but not a cynical one like later.

and it means you can’t go
back there, unless you eat a steak
