Interview Right to Food Conference in Leverano

This Video features an interview of Ms Simona Smeraldi, FAO Consultant for the Right to Food Unit, which was transmitted by SAT8 an Italian satellite TV. The event documented the World Food Day 2007 celebration on the theme of the “Right to Food”, during a Conference in December 2007: “Il contributo delle scienze nella lotta alla fame nel mondo”. The conference was organized by the Province of Lecce in collaboration with the I.S.P.A. C.N.R (Instituto di Scienze delle Produzioni Alimentari del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche) and with the Mediterranean Institute of Cultures, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, United Nations and C.S.A.(Centro Scolastico Amministrativo).
The interview focuses on the meaning of the human rights to food, its importance in the international law system and the activities of the Right to Food Unit in the implementation at national level of this right.
