The Basset Hound Dog

They are generally tricolored: black, tan, and white. Sometimes they are honey and white, or even grey and blue. Their ears are long and flop downward and their neck is very strong and powerful. Their tails are long and stand upright with a curve. The basset hound is basically a large dog with short legs. Due to their irregular proportions, they should never be allowed to swim because they cannot hold themselves above water for long. Basset Hound breeders sell their dogs for relatively reasonable prices compared to other breeds.
