Need some advice please?
August 31st, 2009 | by admin |I’m currently taking 15 hours of political science classes this semester but I am thinking about adding a principles of marketing class to my schedule to increase my chances in the job market. I’m minoring in economics as well, but this class isn’t required for the minor. Would it help job-wise or not really? Or would it just be too much for one semester?
These are the classes I am taking (and I work part time 15-19 hr/week)
International Law
International Relations
Intro to Political Science
Political Thought
Seminar: Road to the White House
Any comments are appreciated!
Thanks
It’s never really suggested to take more than 15 units. Especially if you are working, even part time. And especially if the class isn’t required anyways. The class will help in the sense that it will teach you some new ideas and terms but one class is not going to be a huge, deciding factor on what happens in your career. If you really want to take it you should but I’d wait until I could make it a part of a different 12 or 15 unit semester.

In life outside of the ivory towers of academia, a 15 hour week is what a pregnant woman might ask for, in the later stages, or third trimester, you need to think about this amount of time you are dedicating to your studies, as this will not be an impressive amount to let any employer know about, it suggests you are very lazy, and expect to continue life that way, put the hours in , get used to it, and do the work for the new courses, it is as much a test of intellect as a test of character, doing this degree, try to impress, not amuse with your work, it will pay enormous dividends in life…..
